This descant can easily be shared by 1st sopranos and 1st tenors and adds a nice finish to the beautiful text of the final verse. Silent Night is a traditional part of many Christmas Eve services, and this treatment will send yours over the top. A simple, chordal accompaniment allows the organist time and "room" to effectively add and reduce color as desired while the congregation ably carries on.
